Dr Jason Wendt BVSc - Partner
Jason attended Ipswich Boys Grammar, graduated with first class honours from the University of Queensland in 1996 and has worked in the local area ever since. He has a wealth of knowledge and experience in all areas of veterinary medicine in both domestic and farm animals. He is particularly interested in small animal internal medicine and critical care and regularly attends further-education courses on the subjects. When not at work he can be found at home spending time with his three sons, moving irrigation pipes and playing with his cows. |

Scott Campbell graduated from UQ in ‘94 and rejoins the clinic after originally working with the team for 2 years from ‘99. Since then Scott has worked in the UK and US, gained his Membership in Small Animal Medicine and became a Diplomate of the American College in Small Animal Nutrition. Many clients would remember his friendly, approachable manner and his absolute dedication to pet care and we’re lucky to have him back at BVH. At home he has one spoilt cat called Fuzzy. |

Debbie Render - Practice Manager
Debbie is a fully-qualified veterinary nurse and started her career in the UK in 1988. She then worked as a Hill's Pet Food territory manager for four years before moving to sunny Queensland in 1999. She has been the Practice Manager at Booval ever since and has seen the clinic grow considerably in that time. Her roles include human resource, marketing, stock control and nurse training. When not at work Debbie is kept busy looking after her two sons, writing articles for various veterinary publications and presenting nurse education seminars. At home she has two well-behaved Border Terriers called Max and Taz. |

Fiona joined the clinic in 2007 as one of our dedicated, caring veterinarians. She is friendly, helpful and has quickly become popular with clients. Although she enjoys all aspects of her varied role, avian and exotic medicine is one of Fiona’s areas of special interest. When not at work she spends her time playing badminton, socialising with her youth group and watching TV. She has two cats called Kitty and Coco and a bird called Cocktail. |

Stacey Lyons is caring, enthusiastic, friendly vet and joined the clinic in 2008. Although originally from the Sunshine Coast, she now lives in Ipswich. She has a special interest in emergency medicine and critical care but enjoys all aspects of her job. Stacey has two dogs called Mallie and Scruffy, one cat called Elmo and one horse called Shazzy. When not at work she enjoys spending her time going to the gym, playing netball and watching movies. |

Dr Mark Simmonds BVSc - Veterinarian Mark Simmonds is the latest vet to join the team at BVH after coming on board in 2008. Originally from South Africa, Mark started out as an engineer but, on settling in Brisbane, pursued his long-term ambition of becoming a vet. Mark enjoys all aspects of his career but is especially keen on small animal medicine and is rapidly becoming popular with clients and staff alike. When not at work, Mark spends his time with his young family, going to the movies, watching cricket and rugby and playing the odd game of golf (badly). |

Claire has joined the team in 2007 after moving to Queensland from the UK. She has many years experience as a qualified veterinary nurse, as a manager of a busy vet practice and as an educator in veterinary nursing. She is bright, helpful and dedicated to the care of pets. In her role as Training Officer, Claire is focused on continuing to improve on our, already high, standards of nurse training, patient care and customer service. When not at work Claire enjoys bushwalking, going to the movies and playing with her cat Harry. |

Krystal joined the practice in 2006 after five years in mixed-animal practice at Fernvale. She brings a wealth of experience in both large and small-animal veterinary care to the team. She particularly enjoys being able to provide complete care for pets and their owners; everything from routine health care advice throught to intensive hospital care. When at home she spends her time riding horses, going to the gym and spending time her family. She has two dogs called Tah and Spot, two cats called Domino and Alby, and one horse called Blondie. |

Andrea joined the clinic in 2006 after completing high school at Ipswich Girls Grammar. She brings a passion for animals and a sunny disposition to the clinic and had is a favourite with staff and clients alike. She enjoys all aspects of her job but particularly enjoys the clinical challenges of working in a busy vet hospital. When at home she spends her time socialising with friends, shopping and looking after her alpacas. She has two cats called Monty and Maggie, twenty cows and twenty-three alpacas to keep her busy. |

Bethaney Hoepner - Veterinary Nurse Bethaney joind the clinic in 2007 after completing a Bachelor of Business Management at UQ. She has always had a passion for pet care and progressed from a volunteer position at the RSPCA to becoming a full-time member of our team. Bethaney particularly enjoys the challenges offered in surgical care but gets a thrill out of caring for all animals in all situations. When not at work she spends her time going to the movies, shopping and dog walking. She has one dog called Dooley. |

Gary Fitzgerald - Veterinary Nurse Gary is a local lad who attended Lowood State Highschool and joined the clinic in 2008 after completing a Bachelor of Applied Science (Vet Tech) at UQ. He has a real passion for working one-on-one with patients and this extends to his hobby; breeding reptiles. Gary has 45 snakes, lizards and turtles along with 5 Guinea Pigs, several birds and one fat cat called Chouder. When not at work, and not looking after his pets, he enjoys playing basketball. |

Ashleigh Maclot - Veterinary Nurse Ashleigh joined the clinic in 2008 after spending some time in administration and student services. Her choice of career change was based on a life-time love of animals and brings a passion for working with animals to her job. She spends most of her spare time caring for her myriad of animals; twelve bearded dragons, four dogs, three snakes and and one cat. |

She is a bright and caring veterinary nurse with a real passion for working with all animals and their owners. Steph enjoys all aspects of her job but particularly enjoys assisting in surgery. When not at work she spends her time riding, playing Polocrosse and hanging out with her friends. All together she has two dogs (Tiny and Trixie), two cats (Dana and Lochy) and two horses (Gassarat and Winnooka). |

Shelli has been with the clinic since 2005 and forms an important part of the team. She has been a professional groomer since 1996 and has gained an excellent reputation in the local area since then through her mobile service. Shelli is a helpful, friendly member of the team with a real passion for caring for pets. When not at work she spends time going to dog shows, taking her daughter to dance competitions and going to the movies. She has three dogs called Ella, Bloosom and Gabe. Shelli is available for full clips, minor trims and full-service hydrobaths but bookings are essential, so call the clinic today. |

Camille Leonard - Veterinary Nurse Camille lives locally and is currently studying Year 12 at Saint Mary’s College. She has decided to broaden her education by joining the team as a veterinary nurse on a part-time basis, after having spent time with us during work-experience. Camille has a passion for learning and animal care and is set to become a regular feature of the clinic. She has one dog called Pepe and spends her spare time shopping, competing in athletics and tackling cross-country. |

Samantha Lawrie - Veterinary Nurse Sam joined the clinic in 2008 while completing her senior year at Ipswich Girls Grammar and has gone on to follow her goal of becoming a full-time veterinary nurse. Sam is a bright and cheerful nurse who enjoys all aspects of her job but gets a special satisfaction out of surgical nursing. While not at work she spends time playing hockey, playing touch football, going to the movies and looking after her four cats, two dogs and three birds. |

Paige Morris - Veterinary Nurse Paige lives locally and joined the clinic in 2008 as a trainee veterinary nurse. Her warm, caring, helpful nature makes her an integral member of the team. Paige enjoys all aspects of her job but gets the biggest kick out of helping our sick and injured patients, especially the surgery cases. When not at work she spends her time playing the drums, learning to play the guitar, going to the movies and camping. Paige has two pets; a Miniature Dachshund called “Georgi” and a Cockatiel called “Lenny”. |

Melissa Clark - Veterinary Nurse Melissa joined the practice in 2009 after a brief stint in a local pet shop. She has a degree in tourism and has worked within that industry overseas, including time in the US. Her ambition, however, was to become a veterinary nurse and we were lucky to have her join the team. Melissa is a natural at the customer service component of her job and she has a real passion for the patient care too. When not at work she spends time at the beach, playing touch football and supporting the Broncos. She has two Labradors called ’Bronte’ and ’Holly’ and a cat called ’Pedro’. |
